Okay, you guys, I know I am way behind on blogging.  Today I realized that tomorrow is the first day of JUNE.  How is that even possible?!  I still have a couple of weddings left to blog from the 2017 season and here we are almost half way through 2018 already.  Yikes!  So I am making a point to get those last couple of 2017 weddings blogged now before I’m waist deep in this season’s edits.  First up is Veronique & Yan’s October wedding, which was absolutely gorgeous and perfect in every way.  The weather was beautiful, their entourage was amazing, and the whole day was filled with laughter and love.  Don’t take my word for it, though – see for yourself.

I am so excited to introduce to you the “Keepin’ It Real” sessions.  These sessions are designed to showcase your kids’ interests and personalities.  No need to stress and shop for the perfect outfit that they may never wear again, prep your kids for what they’ll need to do, bribe them, and then stress about them posing and smiling for photos.  Let’s do what your kids want to do!  Do you have a toddler who wears a super hero cape and rubber boots every day?  Maybe a little lady who won’t leave the house without her princess dresses?  Is your child obsessed with sports?  Or music?  Does she love to have tea parties with her dolls every day?  Are you constantly breaking up Nerf gun wars?  Maybe your kid is always covered in mud, wearing the knees out of his jeans while he pushes the dump trucks around in the dirt.  Maybe you have a little reader with a great book collection.  Or maybe you’re like me and have kids who have two totally different sides that you want to showcase (check out my ballerina skateboarder and my hockey loving girlie-girl below).  Whatever it is that your kids are interested in, let’s shoot it!  I really want to show who your child is right now – authentically them.  Get dirty, have fun, let the kids be kids!  These sessions can be completely natural and unposed or if the kids are a bit older we can incorporate whatever they love into some fun posed photos.

The best part?  Since I’m so excited to dig into these sessions, I’m offering them at an introductory rate of $150 each for the month of May.  We’ll have 30 minutes of shooting fun at a location of your choice, then you’ll receive an online gallery with digital download of 15 of the best images from your session.  Spaces are limited, so get in touch to book.  I can’t wait to see what we can come up with!

Jane and Adam are two of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.  As a couple, they are even more sweet and pretty darn adorable.  When they asked me to shoot their wedding I knew I would love working with them and I couldn’t have been more right.  Their wedding day was lovely and a simple reminder of why I love my job so much.  How blessed am I to be chosen by these couples to spend one of the biggest days of their life with them?  There is nothing better than seeing months (sometimes years) of planning fall into place, watching a groom see his bride for the first time, seeing the way the newlyweds sneak little glances at each other throughout the day, and hearing all of the stories of love and support from their families and friends.  And the best part?  I get to capture all of those moments and leave them with the couple as a forever reminder of their perfect day.  Seriously – it’s the best job ever!

Jane & Adam – It truly was a pleasure to spend your day with you.  I hope this little glance at your day takes you right back to the way you felt that day.  xo

There’s nothing better than when your clients become your friends.  That is exactly what happened with Karen and Nick.  When Karen sent me her first email telling me about her wedding, she mentioned that she was also a local photographer.  I’m not gonna lie – I got a little nervous.  I mean, photographing weddings is a lot of pressure on its own, but photographing another photographer’s wedding takes it to a whole new level.  Then I met with Karen in person and I knew it would be amazing to photograph her wedding.  Something just clicked between the two of us and we became fast friends.  We met up as often as we could to discuss wedding details and photography, and I started to feel like I’d known her all my life.  During the engagement session, Nick and Shawn bonded over geeky, techy stuff and everything flowed from there.  When their wedding day finally arrived, Karen and Nick’s hard work, DIYing, and detailed planning paid off.  The weather was perfect, every detail was amazing and flowed with the next, and the ceremony didn’t leave anyone with a dry eye.  Oh, and did I mention they had the coolest hippie van ever?!  We were honoured to capture every moment.  Since then, Karen and I have even travelled to St. Louis together to bond over our own geeky photography stuff.  I guess you just never know where life will take you!

Karen & Nick – I could not be happier that you chose me as your wedding photographer!  I can’t wait to see what else life has in store for the two of you.  xoxo

What do you do when you’ve planned an outdoor wedding day and then it rains all day long?  Well, if you are a super cool couple like Vanessa and Eric, you roll with it!  They moved their beach ceremony into the reception tent at the last minute, didn’t get stressed about it, and were more than happy to go outside and rock their wedding photos in the rain.  And the best part?  They never stopped smiling and laughing all day long.  What an amazing day!
